Velvet Fluorite is a term used to describe a rare and visually striking variety of fluorite that exhibits a soft, matte, or silky surface texture, resembling the feel or appearance of velvet fabric. One of the most notable sources of this variety is the Huanggangliang Mine in the Chifeng region of Inner Mongolia, China. 

What makes Velvet Fluorite from Huanggangliang special is not just its color, but its unique surface texture, which creates a gentle, light-absorbing sheen rather than the typical glassy luster of polished fluorite. This soft, almost plush appearance gives it a more mystical and calming vibe, even before considering its energetic properties.

The "velvet" texture in Velvet Fluorite is caused by extremely fine microcrystalline growth on the surface of the fluorite crystals.
